Winter

I’m sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve had any posts. I will be taking a break from my series on success for a quick update and will hopefully get part 2 up within the next week.
This fall/early winter has went really well for our programs. We’ve had a lot of success on the show tables, and we’ve made even bigger strides in our breeding programs.
In our mini rex since focusing on REWs, we’ve had several BOB and BOS winners this fall. We are still getting some blacks, brokens and a smattering of chocolates. We seem to be heavy in REW bucks constantly, but were lucky enough to get some awesome REW does this year. We like to continually move forward in our mini rex and it does mean moving on our breeding stock that produces well. It’s always a gamble, but so far we’ve had great luck. Our last rounds were out of Nuada, Cosmico, and Nekomata, and they are producing better and more consistently than our previous group. The next rounds we will gradually add in some of our newer sr bucks, starting with the current round. Nitro has had a couple girlfriends, as well as Pursuit. We’re excited to get some does bred to Assault also.
This winter we will continue to breed heavily for REWs, working on consistency overall.
In hollands the kids have also had some great results. The consistency in their programs has some so far in such a short time. They have several juniors that have been amazingly consistent on the show tables the last few months.
They have been focusing on bone, shoulder and crown placement and their hard work is definitely showing. They are continuing to use SnowBall, Meatball, and Brok on several does this season. No Name has also started breeding again and has some new litters here and on the way, Snickle is being used on a few does and we’re using Bogus on some does.
There’s quite a few young mini rex and holland lops running around the cages right now and even more in the boxes and expected this month. This coming spring will be an exciting time for us in both our programs.
