Starting the New Year!

We are now back from our extended Disney vacation.  We covered many states over almost three weeks time and had a wonderful time!  But it’s nice to be back home and get settled in for school and the spring show season.

We were really looking forward to coming home and seeing what a huge difference almost 3 weeks makes in new litters.  The day before we left we had several litters born and had some born right before coming home.  One litter that was a few days old when we left is now ready to be weaned.  It’s really an exciting experience!

What I was most surprised with is how much the older juniors changed in that time.  I had just pulled out a few and took pics and now they look like totally different rabbits.  Before we left hardly any ears were lopping (somewhat thankfully we just ended up with a majority having tiny short ears this winter).  Now they are lopping and their crowns are looking beautiful.  The mini rex fur is coming in gorgeously!

I want to remark on Gabby’s uncanny ability to pick out a day old baby and know somehow that it will be a winner.  I think she’s done it again, Love is looking amazing!!!  Wait for pics later this week.  She also has a littermate sister that is going to make a wonderful show doe.  Those are Matilda x No Name babies.  No Name is proving that he is really passing on his gorgeous huge head to his babies.

Jeremy and I went through mini rex last night and we picked out some that can go, because we are just having space constraints right now, especially because Gabby is growing out jrs for HL nationals.  We have several that were shown in the fall, and have BOVs and BOSVs, that we are willing to sell.  These are really nice mini rex and priced to move!!

Gabby also has a handful of jr HLs she’ll be listing as soon as the weather warms up just a bit and we can do some pictures and make final decisions.  Expect a couple broken tort bucks for certain.

That it’s for now… short and sweet!!  Hopefully I’ll post soon, or at least after the Abilene show the beginning of February…
